Christian Filipov is a lawyer by training, a graduate of the University of Leipzig and the University of California, Berkeley, was engaged in legal practice in Bulgaria and the United States; worked as a consultant to high-tech and pharmaceutical companies in California’s Silicon Valley and implemented donor-funded economic development and legal reform programs in Armenia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan and Uganda. Mr. Filipov’s government advisory background is in public sector digitalization and e-Governance, improving the business enabling environment (including design and implementation of competition policy), fostering business-led innovation and knowledge-based entrepreneurship (including establishing innovation infrastructure and research-industry collaboration); promoting investment and economic growth (including identifying and designing support schemes for the growth of high-value added competitive industries); building the capacity and operational efficiency of public bodies that deliver services to businesses, and in assisting public bodies in change management following reforms.
